As you would expect from an organisation with the scale and complexity of Heathrow, our Finance and Procurement function is essential in delivering value across a diverse portfolio of projects for our passengers and customers. We work closely with the development and commercial arms of our business on projects such as new terminals, car parks, airline lounges, baggage facilities, air-bridges, retail units and IT infrastructure upgrades – essentially any type of investment or financial activity to ensure the accurate budgeting, financial controls and appropriate suppliers are in place. Such changes to continually improve our offering requires careful management with our supply chain to enable Heathrow to deliver the business strategy in a cost-effective way to ensure we maintain competitive with other global hub airports. Our team also work closely with the support functions of the business to ensure the accurate reporting of the business’s financial information in preparation for monthly cyclical processes, as well as bi-annual and annual financial performance disclosure externally.
The premise of being part of our Finance team is around working with our colleagues and stakeholders to deliver cost efficiencies, value for money and operate our business in a way that aligns with our sustainability credentials and commitments. Our team is made up of a number of sub-functions in which we recruit for various roles; these include Accountants within our Tax & Financial Control team and Finance Analysts within our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
Within the Procurement arm of our team, we recruit for roles including Commercial Managers and Category Managers – our colleagues in these roles play a key part in shaping our supply chain as well as managing value from our contracts, through to building strong working relationships with our suppliers.
